As you are going to see, I have worked a lot to improve BMS support in many domains:
The terrain is now accurately displayed (fixed 2 bugs, a third one is going to be fixed in the following releases)Theaters objects databases are now natively supported!Max roll rate has been increased to 360 degrees/s so you can now properly profile your F-16 roll rate performance!As a bonus, trails can now be displayed to up to 4 hours for selected objects and 10 minutes for other objects. This can be handy to analyze a full mission flight profile.And you can now display terrain elevation profile in charts.
The terrain geometry is now displayed exactly as it is in BMS! The heightmap is now interpolated exactly as it is in BMS. No more aircraft flying through hills and vehicles floating over the ground! Another pass will be made to improve further the overall accuracy (rounding errors in altitudes) right after I have completed my work on Tacview 1.5+.
Also, thanks to the help of Uri BA, theaters databases are now natively supported by Tacview. This means that – aside some very special cases – all Falcon 4.0 objects will be accurately displayed in the 3D view. The new engine can natively load any theater object database and automatically make the conversion between Falcon and Tacview types. Not only it is not necessary anymore to maintain the now obsolete public online database, but now Tacview can support a distinct database for each theater!
As usual the most popular theaters have already been re-integrated in Tacview and if your favorite one is missing, it is very easy to add it to Tacview. Just have a look at the dedicated documentation: http://tacview.strasoftware.com/docu...on/falcon/#q22. The Data-Falcon4Theaters.xml syntax has been updated, so make sure you are using the last official file by deleting/fixing your old custom file if applicable.
As requested by many, a new debug log (available from the help menu) will help you to understand what is going on if you have a problem setting-up a custom theater amongst other things.
